Abide by the Rules

Today we have a very interesting Chanakya Quote to be discussed. It is “राज्ञ: प्रतिकूलं नाचरेत् |”. It conveys the message that one must not go against the order given by the King.

* Discretion is Advised.

Now a days we don’t have kings at most of the places, but everywhere there exists some sort of authority with power concentrated in its hands. I am not only talking about the countries or states, but I am talking about all places that includes, but are not restricted to your home, office, college, peer group, neighbourhood, and many other places where people collaborate.

It is not necessary that this authority figure will be formal in nature. In fact in most of the places it will be informal and sometimes illdefined. Anyhow, the existence of authority cannot be ignored.

Now, before continuing further I will like to state a quote from Vidur niti that says “A man who points finger at others without having the strength to deliver justice is a fool.“.  Hopefully! you got the point.  If not then consider this chanakya neeti quote stated below.

 One who overspends money without planning, who provokes the stronger opponent, and one who desires relationship with all kinds of women will definitely meet a quick destruction.

The Message:

The straightforward message is that you cannot show an open or direct disagreement to ideas of authority without facing the consequences. It has nothing to do with being right or being wrong. Actually, it is more about being weak or being strong.

The big fish can consume the smaller one. The interesting part is that the decision lies with the big fish and the small fish cannot do much about it. It might sound disappointing, but is true.

Valor, heroism, straightforwardness, and other similar traits help in solving problems of life. Anyhow, if you think that those can be applied in all situations then you are wrong. In real life we should apply a more realistic approach.

Consider example of a weak man challenging someone with big muscles for a fight. Is this a right approach? Certainly not!

Similar is the case when dealing with authority. An individual is too fragile to bear a direct collision.

How to succeed in such situations?

There are three things that can be done.

  • Appreciate the authority and abide. (If you hold similar views.)
  • Remain silent and sit idle.
  • Remain silent or Speak and work towards implementing the changes that you desire.

    I am a writer and I was very skeptic about your writing talent, but you are too good at philosophy.

    Your practical philosophy is very interesting. May god bless you.
