Chanakya said something interesting about the appearance of a foolish person in Chanakya Niti. Kautilya says that “A stupid person looks similar in appearance to any other human being despite being an animal.”. This Chanakya Quote in the form of a satire is rather simple to understand.
In this article my main emphasis will be on conveying the broader message hidden in those lines. I personally think that the message is not only true for foolish persons, but also for the intelligent beings. Let’s have a look…
Actually, all Humans Appear like a Human:
The heading is self explanatory. No matter you are very intelligent or not so intelligent; you will look like a human. Same is the case with the person standing next to you, and the person standing next to him.
Don’t Judge the book by its cover:
What I mean to say is that you cannot judge a person by his looks. In history you will come across great kings, thinkers, and philosophers who were ugly, but were very capable. Our VishnuGupt also falls in the same category. Forget the history for a while because even today, such persons can be found very easily.
Beauty is an Independent term:
If someone is beautiful then it does not means that he/she will be intelligent or stupid. Beauty and intelligence are very different entities. Also, this applies to people who are not so beautiful. I also believe that the physical beauty is something we inherit and most of it comes predefined. Anyhow, the case with Knowledge & intelligence is just opposite. Everyone has almost equal and infinite potential.
The conclusion:
Think twice! Before making any assumptions about anyone. The appearance and real attributes of a person are hardly related to each other. Anyone with sound mind will consider looking at the actions and intelligence of a person before framing a view about that person.
The dress and looks of a person count only for the first impression. The lasting impression requires something more…
Eg: It is not the getup-of-a-hermit that makes a real hermit. You can suggest improvements in this post by commenting below.
