In chapter 7 of Chanakya Neeti it has been said that “If you are facing loss in business or your heart is broken then don’t share such information with others. Also, one must not discuss scandals of family and incidents of insult.”
Most of us will agree, but when it comes about implementing the very same idea; majority fails in doing so. Let’s dig deeper.
Humans are social animals and most of them urge for sympathy and acceptance. Also, there are humans who exploit this trait of their fellow humans. This is how things go in real world. You might be one of them or partially both. In other words some people act as prey and some act as predator.
As I have explained my point in previous para, I ask you to decide for yourself. You want to be a prey or a predator? I am not telling you to be an exploiter, but I intend to inform you that playing as prey will not benefit you.
Friendships and relationships are not static. I believe that in 99% cases they exist for some reason. With death of the reason the bond shatters in no time. You might disagree , but at this moment we should avoid discussion regarding “how things should go?” and instead focus on “How things really are?”.
I am not saying that you must not talk to anyone. Interactions are necessary, but by being a bit careful during those interactions you won’t be harming anyone. By not sharing secrets you create safeguards against different potential threats.
Finally, I leave you with these lines to think upon:
- Secrets are referred as secrets for a reason.
- Humans shouldn’t be trusted too much.
- Make is hard (impossible) for your enemies to know your secrets. Don’t just serve them on a platter.
